Why visit Krabi

Krabi is a limestone-and-islands base for beach days, long-tail boat rides, climbing, snorkeling, hot springs, night markets, and relaxed southern Thai coastal travel.

Best time to visit: The driest and easiest beach weather usually runs from November to March. The rainy season can still work for value-focused trips, but boat plans are more weather-dependent.

  • Take long-tail boat trips to Railay, Ao Nang beaches, and nearby limestone islands
  • Go rock climbing, snorkeling, kayaking, or island-hopping around the Andaman coast
  • Visit Tiger Cave Temple, hot springs, emerald pools, and inland nature spots
  • Eat at night markets and try southern Thai seafood, curries, and fresh fruit
  • Use Krabi as a calmer base for Phi Phi, Ko Lanta, and other coastal routes

Getting around: Songthaews, taxis, scooters, hotel transfers, and boats cover most visitor routes. Boat schedules and beach access can change with weather, tides, and season, so confirm return options before leaving.

Local tip: Plan boat days early in the trip so bad weather does not erase your only island window, and keep a dry bag ready for long-tail transfers.
